Witty Writers Performance & Storytelling Discussion

Our two speakers, Maritza and Britt, have led Witty Writers Workshop, which is funded by Summit County’s RAP Cultural Tax grant and Casey & Charley’s Foundation for Dogs and Kids and convenes once a week to discuss writing in all shapes and forms—essays, poetry, short stories—and share feedback, work on various writing prompts, and benefit from mini writing lessons from either its facilitator or a guest speaker. Maritza will discuss the process of compiling and editing each author’s submissions to their published book, Neither Here Nor From There/Ni de aquí, ni de allá, and Britt will open up the floor to an engaging discussion about storytelling serving multiple crucial purposes, including preserving history and culture, fostering connections, promoting empathy, and inspiring collective action. Witty Writers authors will have the opportunity to share a short reading of their work. A light dinner will be served.
