Reading Buddies
Volunteers read in their dominant language to participants whose primary language is opposite theirs. Build confidence, sharpen listening skills, boost imagination and vocabulary, and make friends! A complimentary light meal is served before each session.
(RSVP not required but helps for food estimate.)
Games & Grub
Middle schoolers, homeschoolers, and even unschoolers stop by to play noisy games such as Lotería (Spanish bingo), Taco Gato Cabra Queso Pizza, Twister, and The Floor Is Lava!
(RSVP not required but helps for preparation.)
Witty Writers
A welcoming, cozy gathering for writers, nonwriters, and in-the-closet writers! An award-winning local author and a youth writer for Neighbors of Park City and Neighbors of Heber Valley magazines will facilitate each workshop, with 2-3 guest speakers enlisted for each 6-week session. Each witty writer will contribute their work to a published compilation and have the opportunity to participate in a spoken-word performance for our community.
¡Divertimos!
Drop-in, twice-weekly sessions featuring Spanish games, conversation buddies, bilingual movies, and, of course, reading will be offered during the summer months. Dual Language Immersion students: Avoid that summer slide and keep up your Spanish! Shoot a note to info@caseyandcharleys.org if you'd like us to send you the summer schedule when it's available.
Interactive Storytime With a Local Author
Park City children’s author Melissa Marsted has graced the Lounge with her series of books about Utah’s national parks and wildlife, complete with storyboard posters and puppets, followed by mix-mingling and a mini charcuterie spread. Shoot a note to info@caseyandcharleys.org if you’d like to be notified of future readings.
