We, Maritza and Ray, have been lifelong dog lovers, and together we raised two beagles, both of whom left deep paw prints on not just our hearts but also our characters, perhaps helping determine the type of people we would grow up to be.

 

We moved to San Francisco with our first human child in 2011 and were introduced to the uncharted realm of our children's education—essentially, the responsibility of shaping their minds and future. We learned about speech delays and how this affected literacy; we discovered that "play" held just as much importance as academics; and we started to see the value of art and bilingualism in learning.

It all began with our search for a different kind of love, then finding it in a big-time way. And we intend to preserve this quest by giving that love back to as many furry and human children as we possibly can.
